Brennan-Rogers' magnet standards provide students with knowledge that supports their creative and critical thinking abilities to enable them to construct and share knowledge. Our students develop multiple communication competencies to enable them to create, access and analyze a variety of media formats.
To support our magnet theme, all classrooms are equipped with interactive white boards, document projectors and classroom computers. We are upgrading our Wi-Fi infra-structure this school year and will soon be a one to one Chromebook school thanks to the School Improvement Grant.
In every grade level, students are exposed to communication tools and emerging 21st century technologies that support content learning and develop skills required for the mastery of New Haven's curriculum and national Common Core Standards.
Brennan-Rogers is an Open Choice Magnet school that is open to all Connecticut residents. Students are selected through a lottery process and there are no admission requirements, tests or prerequisites required. Sibling preference will be given when a brother or sister is currently attending the school to which the applicant has applied. The brother or sister must live in the same household and have the same parent. Neighborhood preference is given to applicants living within the attendance zone of Brennan-Rogers. While neighborhood and sibling preference does not guaranty placement, it does provide priority in the lottery.
No student may be denied enrollment because of race, ethnicity or disability. Please visit the district magnet office for information regarding application process.
